Webroot false positive?
Here’s where to start.
Webroot false-positive review channels for websites / URLs and files. Find contact scope, review guidance, source links, and any limits to the available process.
Appeal contacts
Choose a channel for the type of detection you want reviewed. Contact availability and acceptance are controlled by the vendor.
How to request a review
Website / URL review
The BrightCloud URL reputation and category review form now operates under OpenText Threat Intelligence.
- Enter the URL or domain and your email address in the OpenText change-request form.
- Optionally suggest an appropriate category and identify the product or integration showing the result.
- Use the comments field to explain the classification problem, then submit.
- The current comments field is limited to 150 characters.
- Use a simple, accurate URL and make sure reviewers can reach its content.
- A site's category and reputation are distinct, and local security-product policies can still block a category.
File review
Webroot provides a file-submission form and support-ticket route for developers disputing a file detection.
- Open the Webroot file-submission page and select False Positive detection as the reason.
- Provide the affected file or its hash and the requested context, then complete the CAPTCHA and submission terms.
- For a ticket with a contact email, use Webroot support and include the VirusTotal report URL, exact detection and software details.
- These are file-review routes. Webroot's URL reputation change form is a separate process.
Names you may see in a report
