F-Prot false positive?
Here’s where to start.
Find F-Prot false-positive contact details and a practical checklist for requesting a review of a VirusTotal detection.
Appeal contacts
Choose a channel for the type of detection you want reviewed. Contact availability and acceptance are controlled by the vendor.
How to request a review
These are general preparation steps. The listed contact’s own instructions take priority.
- Re-scan the affected item in VirusTotal to confirm that the named engine still detects it.
- Email the VirusTotal-listed contact and request a false-positive review.
- Include the VirusTotal report link, exact indicator, detection name, why you believe the verdict is wrong and any cleanup evidence. Confirm that the team handles your indicator type.
- Wait for the vendor’s decision and re-scan after a correction. Keep the case reference for any follow-up.
